Current Energy: Q4 2008 Mobile Billboard
November 20, 2008
Client:
Current Energy provides energy-efficiency solutions to both residential
and commercial customers designed to maximize energy cost savings while
minimizing capital investment. Current Energy has a consumer-facing
retail presence with two Current Energy Stores – one located in the
fashionable Knox-Henderson shopping district of Dallas, Texas, and the
other in Dallas's upscale Northpark Center mall.
Situation:
Current Energy had the opportunity to place a truck-mounted mobile billboard in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex during the holidays.
Objectives:
To make Current Energy the area's green gift headquarters by 1) making
the public aware that Current Energy is a unique source of fun,
functional,
earth-friendly holiday gifts; and 2)ultimately driving
holiday shopping traffic to both the online store and retail
locations.
Strategies & Tactics:
Strategically, we were still following the strategy outlined here. Tactically, however, we faced a little bit of a challenge. We admittedly hadn't designed or produced a mobile billboard before, but we instantly understood that a simple re-sizing of the larger billboards wouldn't work. Yes, the picture below may look like a simple re-size, but making sure everything is legible on a board like this is no mean feat.
Results:
Well, for what it is, we're pretty happy – as is the client. It's kind of a weird medium, but as usual, we rose to the challenge. Humble, aren't we? ;-)
